Our Story

Rancho Capistrano Winery, established in 2012, is an award-winning, family-owned restaurant and winery founded by Kyle and Sylvia Franson.

Our inspiration was simple: to create a place that felt like gathering in our own home or backyard, where friends and family could come together, make memories, and enjoy some of life's greatest pleasures. That vision became our mission: to create an unforgettable guest experience centered around wine, food, family, and community.

Today, Rancho Capistrano Winery produces more than 40 handcrafted wines using grapes sourced from premier growing regions throughout the West, including Paso Robles, Lodi, Northern California, and Washington. Our wines are complemented by an award-winning culinary program featuring signature dishes thoughtfully created to pair with our wines.

With two locations in Orange County, San Juan Capistrano and Ladera Ranch, Rancho Capistrano Winery continues to be a place where people gather, celebrate, connect, and create lasting memories.

We are honored to have been recognized by the Orange County Register as Southern California's Best Winery and to have been named Best Restaurant in San Juan Capistrano.
