El Capitan Cabernet- A Taste of Livermore

El Capitan Cab

If you're in our red or mixed wine club this month, congratulations—you're getting a bottle of El Capitan Cabernet, a bold, no-nonsense wine from Livermore Valley, California's oldest recognized wine region. Yeah, Napa and Paso get all the press, but Livermore's been quietly turning out some of the state's best wines since 1876—before most of those other upstarts even planted their vines.

We've produced several Livermore-based wines over the years, and they never disappoint. This 2022 vintage doesn't hold back. Big tannins, deep structure, and just enough bite to remind you you're drinking something with history. Give it some time, let it breathe, and it rewards you with dark cherry, a flash of ripe strawberry, and a lingering richness that begs for a second pour. Sylvia and I have been drinking this one a lot lately—because it's damn good. We think you'll feel the same.
